The golf course was established in 1976 under the patronage of Brig (Retd) KP Pandey, MVC, Commander, Madhya Pradesh Sub Area. It started off as a small course but today it has grown in both size and stature. Greens were added to make this course a more challenging 18-hole course in which some greens were repeated.
The course was updated in 2004 and this new course has spread over 85 acres, where you can play up to 6,415 yards. This course adds beauty to the sport. This course has natural rolling slopes and verdant landscape, along with an extensive rain water harvesting and horticulture project. It also has a number of water bodies that are a delight to see. BHEL Golf Course, Bhopal
This golf course located in Bhopal is a 9 hole golf course. It is located right next to the cricket stadium at the Bharat Heavy Electrical Ltd ( BHEL) township at Piplani. The course is a mix of Par 3's & Par 4's. Unlike the previous golf course, The BHEL Golf Course has not much water in play, they do however have a mature tree cover, some interesting square/rectangular shaped bunkers which is a good if you want to play just a casual round of golf.
