Regional Science Center in Bhopal

Regional Science Center is one of the similar approaches that earned Bhopal a nationwide fame. Established in 1995, Regional Science Center in Bhopal preliminarily focused on popularizing science and technology. 

Religion Science Center in Bhopal is one of the key units of the National Council of Science Museums of India. The famous Science Center is situated at the Shyamla Hills of Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh.

Aiming at the continuous and increasing need and trend of Science and Technology at the country and the global level, National Council of Science Museums decided to set up the Regional Science Center in Bhopal.It was inaugurated by the then President of India, Shankar Dayal Sharma on January 12, 1995. The campus of the Science Center is expanded over 5 acres. 

The center also has a specious Auditorium and conference hall. The auditorium of the Regional Science Center is 200-seater, whereas the conference hall is 25-seater. Apart from this the Science Center also consists of an AC hall with the capacity of 50 people and a portable 25-seater Planetarium. 

The Regional Science Center was established to facilitate the Science and the Technology specific education among the students and others. The establishment of the Center has proven to be a milestone for Bhopal and Madhya Pradesh as many students and interested people get a window of opportunity for exploring science at their own city.

Significance of Regional Science Center

Regional Science Center is one of the pioneering science and exhibition centers in Bhopal and India. Since, 1995, it has contributed to a great extent to facilitate and expand science at the highest level. It consists of many interesting and astonishing aspects that make it one of the most popular destinations of the capital city of Madhya Pradesh. It has 3 acres of Science Park. 

Regional Science Center consists a total of 300 exhibition centers. All the exhibition consists of models related to energy, light, atmosphere and mechanism. The entire campus is lightened up with the Science Mechanism that explains the student and seeker a better approach. 

One of the 25 units of National Council of Science Museum, Regional Science Center is an autonomous body, regulated by the Ministry of culture, Government of India. The Science Center also has special screening of 3D movie for the students. The 3D Science Show is organized in the AC Hall.

Apart from it, the portable Planetarium of Regional Science Center teaches young students about the stars, universe and the space. However, the impact and the importance of the Regional Science Center cannot be summed up with the indoor and outdoor Science Exhibits at the campus. Regional Science Center has its own Mobile Science Exhibition Center. 

The bus which consists of at least 24 exhibitions takes the tour of remote and rural village of nearby areas. According to information, the Mobile Science Exhibition vehicle goes to interior villages of Madhya Pradesh and also adjoining Chhattisgarh State. 

The bus demonstrates and educates the people about Science and sky observations. Along with it, the Regional Science Center educated people about facts and myths, so that less educated people can come out of the so called superstitions and have an enlightened life. The Mobile Science Exhibition Center even shows short movies and documentaries that are related to Science and Technology.

Activities in Regional Science Center

The Science Park of Regional Science Center has over 60 exhibitions for activities. Kids and students from various age groups can take part in the activities and learn plenty of things related to Science and Technology. Science Demonstrative Lectures are also conducted in the Regional Science Center so that students can have clear perception about Science and technologies. 

It also organizes the Computer Awareness Programme which educates the people about the basic handling and usage of computer. The creative ability center of Regional Science Center enables students to learn scientific experiment and various modelling and other activities. 

It also has the Teacher Training Programme which educates the teachers so that they can deliver better to the students and help in building a strong nation in the future. Apart from these, the Regional Science Center has many vocational programme for the students which increase the level of knowledge and wisdom among them.

Impact of Regional Science Center

The impact of Regional Science Center is beyond said and written. It has able to generate tremendous enthusiasm among the students. From last 19 years, Regional Science Center has been the major face of Bhopal advancement and modernization. It has upgraded the status of Science and rationalism in the city and the adjoining areas by a large extent. It has also contributed to eradicate superstition and other believes and myths from the adjoining areas of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. 

The Regional Science Center is widely acclaimed and accredited for the efforts it has made towards the awareness of the people. It has also become one of the most popular Educational Excursions, and visiting places for the students. The center keeps on updating itself in order to achieve the goals for driving Bhopal towards Science oriented city.

Entry Fee of Regional Science Center

Regional Science Center is open all the Seven Days a week for everyone from 10 AM to 6 PM. However, the Center remains closed on the Festivals of Holi and Diwali.
